PhD topic – Heavy haul train force control product

Simon Wagner

Research summary

Problems with large forces in heavy haul trains both in normal operation and tippling operations could be alleviated with additional damping, with a need to improve train dynamic performance without adversely increasing wear or maintenance costs. This research proposes to investigate the dynamic behaviour and feasibility of a Drawbar Damper.
